Review of Round Six of the 2019 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the third round of the Michelin Endurance Cup at Watkins Glen International Raceway on the outskirts of New York.
Mazda Team Joest won the race overall and Daytona Prototype international class too of Jonathan Bomarito, Olivier Pla and Harry Tincknell in their Mazda RT24-P, Mazda MZ-2.0T 2.0 L Turbo I4. While, the other Mazda Team Joest team finished in second place in their Mazda RT24-P, Mazda MZ-2.0T 2.0 L Turbo I4; the team of Oliver Jarvis, Tristan Nunez and Timo Bernhard to complete a Mazda one-two finish; they were four tenths of a seconds behind the leaders. Meanwhile, Acura Team Penske finished third in their Acura ARX-05, Acura AR35TT 3.5 L Turbo V6; the team of Dane Cameron and Juan Pablo Montoya; they were thirteen seconds behind the leaders.
In LMP2 class (all cars using the Gibson 4.2 L V8 engine), PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports team of Gabriel Aubry, Eric Lux and Matt McMurry in their Oreca 07 won LMP2 class. They finish in tenth place overall and they were ten laps behind the leaders at the end of the race.
In GT Le Mans Class, Porsche GT Team won GT Le Mans Class and finished in twelfth place overall in their Porsche 911 RSR; with the drivers of Patrick Pilet and Nick Tandy; they were sixteen laps behind the leaders.
In GT Daytona Class, Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian team won GT Daytona Class and finished in eighteenth place overall in their Acura NSX GT3 Evo; with the drivers of Mario Farnbacher, Trent Hindman and Justin Marks; they were twenty-three laps behind the leaders.
Next Stop Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in a weeks time for Round Seven of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
