2019 WTCR Round 1 Recap - Race of Morocco

Review of Round One of the 2019 World Touring Car Cup season was the Race of Morocco, on the Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan in Marrakech, Morocco.

In the first race, ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport driver Esteban Guerrieri took the race win in his Honda Civic Type R TCR (FK8). Second was Cyan Racing Lynk & Co driver Thed Björk in his Lynk & Co 03 TCR, he was six tenths of a second behind Guerrieri in the end. While third place was ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport driver Néstor Girolami in his Honda Civic Type R TCR (FK8), he was two seconds behind Guerrieri in the end.



Meanwhile in the second race, BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse driver and Current WTCR Champion Gabriele Tarquini took the race win in his Hyundai i30 N TCR. Second was Leopard Racing Team Audi Sport driver Jean-Karl Vernay in his Audi RS 3 LMS TCR, he was three seconds behind Tarquini in the end. While third place was Cyan Performance Lynk & Co driver Yann Ehrlacher in his Lynk & Co 03 TCR, he was four seconds behind Tarquini in the end.



Finally in the third race, Cyan Racing Lynk & Co driver Thed Björk took the race win in his Lynk & Co 03 TCR. Second was Comtoyou Team Audi Sport driver Frédéric Vervisch in his Audi RS 3 LMS TCR, he was seven tenths of a seconds behind Björk in the end. While third place was PWR Racing driver Mikel Azcona in his CUPRA León TCR, he was three seconds behind Björk in the end.



Next stop Race of Hungary at the Hungaroring for Round Two of the 2019 World Touring Car Cup season in three weeks time.
