Audi has unveiled their new GT3 contender that will go on sale to customers in time for later this season. The Audi R8 LMS GT3, which was launched at Geneva Motor Show on Tuesday (3/3/15), will succeeds the old Audi R8 LMS GT3 for next season.
The R8 LMS GT3 will have the same 5.2-litre V10 engine as in the road-car R8 itself, producing 585bhp, a new six-speed gearbox with paddle shifters was specifically developed. The system is said to be significantly lighter than its predecessor. While the new R8 LMS GT3 is 25kg lighter than the previous R8 LMS GT3.
Audi is set to compete in the Nürburgring 24 Hours and the 24 Hours of Spa later this season with the new Audi R8 LMS GT3 for the works team, while customers teams will have the new R8 LMS GT3 at the end of 2015.
