It's Official - Sergio Pérez reveals he is leaving McLaren at the end of 2013 F1 season, so what's next for Pérez?

Sergio Pérez has confirmed on Wednesday night (13/11/13), after just one season with McLaren, the team has made its decision on 2014 and that he is no longer part of their plans he announced on his Twitter account.

In my opinion, this is sad news. I do believe he needed another season with McLaren, despite he only managed 35 points so far this season, compared to the 60 points Jenson Button, and he has been unable to replicate the kind of form he had with Sauber in 2012, although admittedly this year’s McLaren has been the worse McLaren in nearly a decade since 2004.

And so what's next for Sergio Pérez? His only options would be getting at drive at Force India or a return to Sauber next season or a surprising drive at Lotus maybe. If not, this could be last season in Formula 1 for a season.

So, who would replace Sergio Pérez at McLaren then for 2014? It has been strongly rumoured since last week that McLaren are set to promoted current McLaren junior driver and Formula Renault 3.5 Series Champion Kevin Magnussen as Jenson Button's team-mate. Is he the right choice for McLaren, time will tell.

End of blog for now, new post soon. Bye.
