2022 BTCC Round 8 Recap

Review of Round Eight of the 2022 British Touring Car Championship season returns to Thruxton, in Hampshire.

In the first race, NAPA Racing UK driver Dan Cammish took the race win in his Ford Focus ST. Second was Halfords Racing with Cataclean driver Gordon Shedden in his Honda Civic Type R, he was a second behind behind Cammish in the end. While, third place was NAPA Racing UK driver and current BTCC Champion Ash Sutton in his Ford Focus ST, he was two seconds behind Cammish in the end.

Meanwhile, Independents class was won by CarStore Power Maxed Racing driver Ash hand in his Vauxhall Astra also took Jack Sears Trophy (for drivers yet to record an overall podium finish or won outright the Jack Sears Trophy championship) win as-well. He finished in fifth place and was five seconds behind Cammish in the end.



Meanwhile in the second race, NAPA Racing UK driver and current BTCC Champion Ash Sutton took the race win in his Ford Focus ST. Second was NAPA Racing UK driver Dan Cammish in his Ford Focus ST, he was thirteen tenths of a second behind Sutton in the end. While third place was Halfords Racing with Cataclean driver Gordon Shedden in his Honda Civic Type R, he was two seconds behind behind Sutton in the end.

Meanwhile, Independents class was won by Rich Energy BTC Racing driver driver Josh Cook in his Honda Civic Type R, he finished in eighth place and was ten seconds behind Sutton in the end.

While, Jack Sears Trophy was won by Autobrite Direct with JourneyHero driver Bobby Thompson in his Cupra León, he finished in twelfth place and was sixteen seconds behind Sutton in the end.



Finally in the third race, Rich Energy BTC Racing driver driver Josh Cook took the race win in his Honda Civic Type R and also took Independents class win. Second was Team BMW driver Colin Turkington in his BMW 330e M Sport, he was two and half seconds behind Cook in the end. While third place was Team BMW driver Stephen Jelley in his BMW 330e M Sport, he was five seconds behind Cook in the end.

While, Jack Sears Trophy was won by Bristol Street Motors with Excelr8 TradePriceCars.com driver Jack Butel in his Hyundai i30 Fastback N Performance, he finished in fifteenth place and was twenty-four seconds behind Cook in the end.




Next stop Silverstone for Round Nine of the 2022 British Touring Car Championship season in four weeks time.
