It was confirmed this morning (12/11/19) that Red Bull Racing will retain Alexander Albon for next season alongside Max Verstappen.
Albon, who has made F1 debut this season after graduating from Formula 2, was promoted from Red Bull's junior team Toro Rosso to its main F1 outfit ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix.
Albon replaced Pierre Gasly, who had been struggling as Verstappen's team-mate from the start of the season, and has now successfully convinced the main team to make the switch permanent for next season.
Albon currently sits sixth place in the Drivers' standings, best finish of fourth place at Suzuka back in October.
Overall, a very good decision from Red Bull to keep Alexander Albon for next season. Albon done the job what he needed to do at Red Bull, been much faster than Gasly when he had the drive earlier in the season. Which makes Red Bull Racing line-up a very strong one going into 2020.
