2019 Monaco Grand Prix Review

Review of the sixth round of the 2019 F1 season on the streets of Monte Carlo, for the Monaco Grand Prix.

Overall the race itself was a good race to watch, despite limited overtaking. Current Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton was on pole for Sunday's race. Hamilton controlled the race throughout lead all of the 78 laps despite using the medium tyre for 68 laps while his rivals opted for the harder tyres. Despite a late charge from Max Verstappen it was Lewis Hamilton to win this seasons Monaco Grand Prix for Lewis Hamilton's fourth race win of the season. While Hamilton dedicated the win to the former Mercedes non-executive chairman and three time Formula 1 world champion Niki Lauda who past away last week.

While, Max Verstappen finished in second place in the Ferrari. However, Verstappen has been given a five-second time penalty for an unsafe pit-stop release early in the race. Meaning, Sebastian Vettel finished in second place in the Ferrari, Vettel was two seconds behind Hamilton at the end.

Meanwhile, Valtteri Bottas finished in third place in the other Mercedes to complete the podium, Bottas was three seconds behind Hamilton at the end of the seventy-eight lap race.
