Eric Boullier resigned as McLaren's racing director, Gil De Ferran replaces Boullier

It was confirmed on Wednesday (4/7/18), Eric Boullier has resigned his position as Racing Director at McLaren, ahead of this weekend's British Grand Prix.

It emerged on Wednesday morning that Boullier had parted company with McLaren, having occupied the role of Racing Director since 2014 after joining from Lotus, the former Racing Director of McLaren have agreed to part company by mutual consent.

Boullier has been replace by former Champ Car Champion Gil De Ferran has been appointed as their new Sporting Director.

In my opinion, this was not surprising this news happen. Despite, the team are using Renault Power-Unit's this season, McLaren are still slow. Sixth in the Constructors' standings at this moment of time, is better from last seasons ninth place but not good enough for a team like McLaren, McLaren should be challenging for winning races not fighting for fifteen place with talent like Fernando Alonso driving for them, unfortunately for Eric Boullier it did cost him his job at McLaren.

What's next for McLaren? and what's next for Eric Boullier?
