Quick thoughts on the race from Sundays race at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and thoughts on Jorge Lorenzo staying at Yamaha for two more years.
The race itself was a very good race and a great win for Jorge Lorenzo at Silverstone, on his works Yamaha, a great battle from the start to the middle of the race between himself and Casey Stoner, then Jorge Lorenzo took the lead from Casey Stoner till the checkered flag. A great win from Jorge Lorenzo. Casey Stoner meanwhile on his Honda finished second overall, three seconds behind Lorenzo. While, Dani Pedrosa on his Honda two tenths behind team-mate Stoner at the end, who finished third.
Quick mention to both Alvaro Bautista on his works Honda Gresini started on pole for Sundays race and did a solid job on the Gresini Honda, running with the leaders throughout the race and eventually taking a fine fourth place, five seconds behind Lorenzo.
While, Tech 3 Yamaha rider and British rider Cal Crutchlow was the rider of the race, charging from the back of the grid to sixth place despite having an injured foot from Saturday morning's crash. Crutchlow made a stunning run through the field, stealing sixth from Nicky Hayden, on the very last lap. Cal Crutchlow was fifthteen seconds behind Lorenzo. Also, there has been a rumour that Cal Crutchlow could be on a works Ducati rider next season by a few sources.
The remaining British rider on the MotoGP grid James Ellison, finished 14th place on his Paul Bird Racing spec Aprilia, 74 seconds behind Lorenzo.
Speaking of Lorenzo, it was announced last Tuesday (12/6/12) that MotoGP 2010 world champion Jorge Lorenzo will be staying at Yamaha for two more years, until the end of the 2014 season. My opinion a brilliant decision from Yamaha for keeping Lorenzo till the end of 2014. If, Lorenzo would have gone to Honda in 2013, which Jorge Lorenzo admits rejecting a multi-million pound offer to join Honda as Casey Stoner’s replacement for next season, before signing his Yamaha contract. I personally think that no one couldn't replace Lorenzo at Yamaha. And possibly Jorge Lorenzo is best rider at this moment of time and definitely for the next few years in my opinion. And Lorenzo wanted to stay at Yamaha at the first place too. So, a very good decision from Yamaha to keep Jorge Lorenzo for the next two years.
So with Jorge Lorenzo staying at Yamaha next season, who else could replace Casey Stoner for 2013 at Repsol Honda? Marc Marquez, Stefan Bradl or Valentino Rossi perhaps? who knows time will tell.
Anyway, end of post/blog for now, that is all, Bye.
