2022 Spanish Grand Prix Review

Review of the sixth round of the 2022 F1 season at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, on the outskirts of Barcelona, for the Spanish Grand Prix.

The race will be the race that Charles Leclerc should have won. Leclerc was on pole for Sunday's race ahead of Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr.

Leclerc took the lead at the start ahead of Verstappen and Sainz Jr. Leclerc was set to win, until Lap 27 when Leclerc forced to retire with a broken turbo. Despite having DRS issues throughout the weekend it was Current Formula 1 Champion Max Verstappen to take the win, leading from lap 50 from team-mate Sergio Pérez to the end to conclude with a race win in this seasons Spanish Grand Prix for Max Verstappen's fourth race win of the season.



While, Sergio Pérez finished in second place in the other Red Bull to complete a second Red Bull one-two finish of the season, Pérez was thirteen seconds behind Verstappen at the end.

Meanwhile, George Russell finished in third place in the Mercedes to complete the podium, Russell was thirty-three seconds behind Verstappen at the end of the sixty-six lap race.
