2020 Portuguese Grand Prix Review

Review of the twelfth round of the 2020 F1 season held at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, on the outskirts of Portimão, for the Portuguese Grand Prix.

Overall the race itself was a good race to watch. Current Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton on pole for Sunday's race. At the start it was team-mate Valtteri Bottas took the lead at the start, until lap 20 when Hamilton for the lead. That Hamilton never looked back; lead all rest of the laps, to win this seasons Portuguese Grand Prix for Lewis Hamilton's eighth Grand Prix win of the season.



That was Lewis Hamilton's ninety-second Grand Prix win taking the overall record from Michael Schumacher for most Grand Prix wins.



Meanwhile, Valtteri Bottas finished in second place in the Mercedes to give the team its fourth one-two finish of the season, Bottas was twenty-five seconds behind Hamilton at the end.

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen finished in third place in the Red Bull to complete the podium, Verstappen was thirty-five seconds behind Hamilton at the end of the sixty-six lap race.

Now with five races to go, Lewis Hamilton win at Portimão, and Valtteri Bottas finishing second, Lewis Hamilton's lead of the F1 Drivers' Standings has been improve from sixty-nine points to seventy-seven points ahead of team-mate Valtteri Bottas in the standings with five races to go.

While Mercedes still leads F1 Constructors' Standings, the gap is now improved from one hundred and eighty-four points to two hundred and nine points ahead of Red Bull who are second in the Constructors' Standings with five races to go.

Mercedes could win their seventh Constructors' Championship at Imola. Mercedes needs to score ten points more than Red Bull to win the title at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
