Review of Round Seven of the 2018 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season was held at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, on the outskirts of Misano in east of Italy, for DTM's only night race of the season.
On Saturday's race, Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Remus driver Paul di Resta took the race win in his Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM. Second was Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline driver Robin Frijns in his Audi RS5 DTM, he was two seconds behind di Resta in the end. While, third place was Silberpfeil Energy Mercedes-AMG Motorsport driver Edoardo Mortara in his Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM, he was over two seconds behind di Resta in the end.
On Sunday's race, BMW Team RBM driver Joel Eriksson took the race win in his BMW M4 DTM. Second was Silberpfeil Energy Mercedes-AMG Motorsport driver Edoardo Mortara in his Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM, he was two seconds behind Eriksson in the end. While, third place was Audi Sport Team Rosberg driver and Current DTM Champion René Rast in his Audi RS5 DTM, he was six seconds behind Eriksson in the end.
Special mention to former Williams F1 driver and Para-Olympic Gold medallist Alex Zanardi, who made a wild card appearance in this round in a special BMW M4 DTM to finish in fifth place, he was forty-seven seconds behind Eriksson in the end.
Next stop Nürburgring, Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany for Round Eight of the 2018 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters in two weeks time.
