It's Official - Valtteri Bottas joins Mercedes GP

It was confirmed on Monday afternoon (16/1/17) Valtteri Bottas will join Mercedes on a multi-year deal for the 2017 season, Bottas will replace Current Formula 1 Champion Nico Rosberg who retire from Formula 1 at the end of last season, will race alongside with current Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton next season.



Bottas, was set to remain at Williams in 2017, alongside European Formula 3 champion Lance Stroll, but Rosberg's shock retirement as World Champion, freed up a space at Mercedes.



Mercedes quickly settled on Bottas for the teams replacement for Rosberg, following weeks of discussions.
