2016 World RX Round 9 Recap - World RX of Barcelona

Review of Round Nine of the 2016 World Rallycross Championship season was the World RX of Barcelona, at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on the outskirts of Barcalona, Spain.

In the four Heats, those were won by Mattias Ekström, Timmy Hansen and Johan Kristoffersson (winning twice).



In the first semi-final that was won by EKS RX driver Mattias Ekström in his Audi S1. Second was Team Peugeot-Hansen driver Timmy Hansen in his Peugeot 208, he was seven tenths of a second behind Ekström in the end. While, third was Larsson Jernberg Motorsport driver Robin Larsson in his Audi A1, he was five seconds behind Ekström in the end.

In the second semi-final that was won by World RX Team Austria driver Timur Timerzyanov in his Ford Fiesta. Second was Volkswagen RX Sweden driver Johan Kristoffersson in his Volkswagen Polo, he was seven tenths of a second behind Timerzyanov in the end. While, third was World RX Team Austria driver Jānis Baumanis in his Ford Fiesta he was two seconds behind Timerzyanov in the end.

In the final race, EKS RX driver Mattias Ekström took the race win in his Audi S1. Second was Team Peugeot-Hansen driver Timmy Hansen in his Peugeot 208, he was eight tenths of a second behind Ekström in the end. While third was World RX Team Austria driver Timur Timerzyanov in his Ford Fiesta, he was three seconds behind Ekström in the end.



Next stop World RX of Latvia at Biķernieku Kompleksā Sporta Bāze for Round Ten of the 2016 World Rallycross Championship season in two weeks time.
