Two weeks ago, Dodge's SRT division and the creators of Gran Turismo teamed up to make the SRT Tomahawk concept, which is another car in the Vision Gran Tursimo series for GT6. And according to SRT, the SRT Tomahawk has been designed with one aim: "to test the limits of human physiology". And yes it's only a concept car.
First of all, the car has been designed to be as low as possible. While the SRT Tomahawk has nine active aero panels and two front splitters, an exhaust system that works with the aero, and exposed aluminium channels to direct air that cool the engine.
But, there is more, there is three different SRT Tomahawk specs. The SRT Tomahawk S has the engine a 7.0 litre V10 from the Dodge Viper that produces 792bhp to the rear, with a further 215bhp from the front wheels from its hybrid system is not electric, but pneumatic, a big tank of compressed air that drives the front axle. That makes the SRT Tomahawk S producing 1,007bhp in total, weighing just 918kg and a top speed of 250mph.
While the SRT Tomahawk GTS-R has the Viper 7.0 litre V10 that produces 1,137bhp to the rear, and the hybrid pneumatic engine at the front producing 313bhp, giving the SRT Tomahawk GTS-R producing 1,450bhp in total, weighing just 662kg and a top speed of 300mph.
And then its the SRT Tomahawk X has the Viper 7.0 litre V10 that redlines at 14,500rpm and produces 2,168bhp to the rear. The hybrid pneumatic engine at the front this time producing 422bhp, giving the SRT Tomahawk X producing 2,590bhp in total, and top speed of 404mph!
A G-suit will be needed for this concept car.
End of post/blog for now, new post soon. Bye.
