Alex de Angelis to replace Colin Edwards at Forward Racing

It was announced yesterday (11/8/14) that Alex de Angelis will replace Colin Edwards at NGM Forward Racing for the rest of the 2014 MotoGP season.

Edwards, who has raced in the MotoGP class since 2003, said over the Indianapolis Grand Prix weekend that he was likely to bring forward his retirement, and that he would only potentially race at Silverstone and Valencia.

Forward Racing confirmed yesterday that Edwards would be stepping back from his full-time position, but said he would remain part of the team, assisting with bike development and possibly making some wild card appearances.

Edwards has made clear that he will skip this weekend's Czech Grand Prix, but he will be at Silverstone, whether I'll be racing or not.

Edwards finished thirteenth place at Indianapolis, his final outing on home soil and what could be his last in MotoGP, and if so, one of the most loved MotoGP characters on the grid will be missed badly in my opinion.

End of blog for now. New post soon. Bye.
