Peugeot unveils 2008 Dakar challenger

Peugeot Sport has revealed the first pictures of its 2008 DKR on Tuesday (15/4/14), which the French manufacture hopes will help it recapture former Dakar glories from the late eighties.





Based on the Peugeot 2008 Crossover. The 2008 DKR, to be driven by Carlos Sainz, Stephane Peterhansel and Cyril Despres, will run in two-wheel drive rather than four-wheel drive configuration, due to more technical South American stages that the Peugeot 2008 DKR can use bigger wheels and also to benefit from more suspension travel.

Also, the Peugeot 2008 DKR will race on 37-inch Michelin tyres. And Red Bull and French oil brand Total is also involved in the project as-well.
