Alex Zanardi back in a racing car

First time since his double Paralympics Gold at London 2012 games, Alex Zanardi is driving the BMW M3 DTM at the Nurburgring. On the 3.629km spec Nurburgring track (not full grand prix track, but the indy circuit if you can call it), Zanardi done 32 laps in his hand control-spec M3. He tested the M3 few weeks back as this youtube video shows Zanardi driving around the Nurburgring.

There are rumours that Alex Zanardi may drive the M3 DTM spec in next seasons DTM champion. If this does happen, this will be the first time we will see him in a racing series since 2009 in the World Touring Car Championship, he won races for BMW Italy-Spain in that between 2004 and 2009, so you got a race winner there too.

In my opionon, this could be good for the DTM series and good for motorsport in general, if the rumours does happen. If not, Alex Zanardi had a taste of driving a BMW M3 DTM car for one day.

End of blog for now, new post soon, bye.
