Review of Round Eight of the 2014 British Touring Car Championship season was on the International Super Sports Car Circuit at Rockingham Motor Speedway, in Northamptonshire.
In the first race, eBay Motors driver Colin Turkington took the race win in his BMW 125i M Sport and also took Independents class too. Second was MG KX Clubcard Fuel Save driver Sam Tordoff in his MG6 GT, he was three seconds behind Turkington in the end. Meanwhile, third was MG KX Clubcard Fuel Save driver Jason Plato in his MG6 GT, he was eight seconds behind Turkington in the end.

While third place was Pirtek Racing driver and 2013 BTCC Champion Andrew Jordan in his Honda Civic, he was over six seconds behind Austin in the end.
Next stop Silverstone for Round Nine of the 2014 British Touring Car Championship season in three weeks time.

2014 Italian Grand Prix Review and thoughts
2014 Italian Grand Prix review of round thirteen of the F1 season at Monza, and thoughts on the race.
Good points
Bad points
The race itself was a very good race to watch, with pole sitter Lewis Hamilton lost three places after a poor start due to a loss of power, allowing team-mate and rival Nico Rosberg into the lead, and Kevin Magnussen and Felipe Massa into second and third respectively. With Hamilton passing Magnussen and Massa within laps of each other he made sure to catch up to his team-mate to the pit-stops. Then on lap 29, Rosberg missed the first chicane allowing Hamilton to take the lead to conclude a fastest lap and an impressive win to give Lewis his sixth Grand Prix win of the season.
While, team-mate Nico Rosberg finished in second place in the Mercedes to give the team its seventh one-two finish of the season.
Meanwhile, Felipe Massa finished in third place, in his Williams, to give his first podium finish of the season.
Nico Rosberg still leads the drivers' championship from team-mate Lewis Hamilton, but the gap is now reduce from 29 points to 22 points in the standings with six races to go. While, Daniel Ricciardo is third in the standings is now 64 points from Spa to now 72 points behind Rosberg after his fifth place finish at Monza.
Next stop Marina Bay Street Circuit in two weeks time for the Singapore Grand Prix.

Confirmed: Haas F1 Team using Ferrari turbo engines from 2016 and onwards
It was announced on Wednesday (3/9/14) that Haas F1 Team will use Ferrari V6 Turbo engines and gearbox's when they join the Formula 1 grid from 2016.
This has been heavily rumoured that Haas F1 Team will use the Ferrari power-units since the Canadian Grand Prix. The deal was confirmed by Ferrari chief Marco Mattiacci on the eve of the team's home race in Italy this weekend.
In my opinion, this is no major surprise that the news has happen on Wednesday. As this has been rumoured since the news that the Haas F1 Team will be joining F1 grid from the 2016 onwards. And no word yet if the deal is being extended beyond the engine supply deal such as loaning out drivers and technicians to the new Haas Team.
Also, as-well as that, it was announced on Tuesday (2/9/14), that the team will rename from Haas Formula to the Haas F1 Team.

Top Six 1950's Formula 1 Cars
With Formula 1 returning back this week for the Italian Grand Prix. This post is the top six 1950's Formula 1 cars of all time, similar post to the top six 1980's Formula 1 cars from last year, and the top six 1960's, 1970's and 1990's Formula 1 cars post from a few months back. So starting with number six:
Number 6: 1957-58 Vanwall VW5
Story: The Vanwall VW5 was designed by Frank Costin, the Vanwall VW5 was powered by the Vanwall 2.5 litre Straight-six engine. Which, took the Vanwall VW5 to nine wins between 1957 till 1958, five wins for Stirling Moss, three for Tony Brooks, and one shared win between Tony Brooks and Stirling Moss. Although the Vanwall VW5 never took a drivers' championship in those two seasons. It did took Vanwall to the 1958 F1 Constructors championship, the first for any Formula 1 Constructor as it was introduce in 1958.
Number 5: 1959-60 Cooper T51
Story: The Cooper T51 was designed by Owen Maddock, the Cooper T51 was powered by the Climax 2.5 litre Straight-six engine. Which, took the Cooper T51 to five wins in 1959, two wins for Jack Brabham, two wins for Stirling Moss, and one for Bruce McLaren. Which took, Jack Brabham to the 1959 F1 Drivers' Title, his first of three titles, and Cooper to the 1959 Constructors' Championships. And the T51 earned a significant place in motor racing history to become the first rear-engined car Formula 1 car to win both championships as the previous race cars before were front-engined cars.
Number 4: 1938-51 Alfa Romeo 158/159
Story: The Alfa Romeo 158/159 was designed by Gioacchino Colombo, the Alfa Romeo 158/159 was powered by the Alfa Romeo 1.5 litre straight-eight supercharged engine. The Alfa Romeo 158/159 started its life in 1938, and continued after the Second World War which includes 37 wins between 1938 till 1953. But in Formula 1, the Alfa Romeo 158/159 took ten Grand Prix wins in-between 1950 and 51, five for Juan Manuel Fangio, four for Giuseppe Farina, and one shared win between Juan Manuel Fangio and Luigi Fagioli. Which took, Giuseppe Farina to the 1950 F1 Drivers' Title the first ever Drivers' Champion in Formula 1, and Juan Manuel Fangio to his first F1 Drivers' Title in 1951.
Number 3: 1954-60 Maserati 250F
Story: The Maserati 250F was designed by Gioacchino Colombo and Valerio Colotti, the Maserati 250F was powered by the 2.5 litre Maserati Straight-six engine. Which, took the Maserati 250F to eight wins in-between 1954 and 60, six for Juan Manuel Fangio and two for Stirling Moss. Which took, Juan Manuel Fangio to the 1957 F1 Drivers' Title, and his final Drivers' Title as-well.

Story: The Ferrari 500 was designed by Aurelio Lampredi, the Ferrari 500 was powered by the 2 litre Ferrari Straight-four engine. Which, took the Ferrari 500 to thirteen wins in-between 1952 and 53, eleven for Alberto Ascari, with nine Grand Prix wins in a row between 1952; one each for Giuseppe Farina and Piero Taruffi. Which took, Alberto Ascari to the 1952 and 1953 F1 Drivers' Titles.

Sochi ready to race
Six weeks before Russian Grand Prix at the new Sochi Autodrom in Sochi. The circuit was officially open on last Monday (25/08/14), the track was christian by none other than current Formula One World Champion Sebastian Vettel completed several laps of the track driving an Infiniti Q50 Hybrid. The video below shows Sebastian Vettel, taking the first full lap of the Sochi Autodrom in the Infiniti Q50 Hybrid road car.

F1 2014 Italian Grand Prix Predictions
Predictions for this weekends Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix at Monza, near Milan. For the home race for both Ferrari and Toro Rosso teams.

Review of the round twelve of the 2014 MotoGP season at Silverstone, on the outskirts of Northampton, UK
In the MotoGP race (V-twin, V4, or Inline-four 1000cc four stroke class), that was won by Repsol Honda Team rider and current MotoGP champion Marc Márquez on his works Honda RC213V. Second place was the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo on his works Yamaha YZR-M1, he was seven tenths of a second behind Márquez at the end. While, third was the other Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi on his works Yamaha YZR-M1, he was eight seconds behind Márquez at the end.
In Open class (Full control ECU system, hardware and software), NGM Forward Racing rider Aleix Espargaró won Open class and finish ninth overall on his FTR-Yamaha YZR-M1, he was 33 seconds behind Márquez at the end.
In the Moto2 race (Inline-four 600 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Marc VDS Racing Team rider Esteve Rabat on the Kalex. Second was the other Marc VDS Racing Team rider Mika Kallio on the Kalex, he was six hundredths of a second behind Rabat at the end of the race. While, third was Paginas Amarillas HP 40 rider and 2013 Moto3 Champion Maverick Viñales on the Kalex, he was two tenths of second behind Rabat at the end of the race.
While in the Moto3 race (single-cylinder 250 cc four-stroke class), that race was won by Estrella Galicia rider Álex Rins on the Honda. Second was the other Estrella Galicia rider Álex Márquez on the Honda, he was he was a hundredth of a second! behind Rins at the end of the race.
