2022 1000 Miles of Sebring Review

Review of Round One of the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship at Sebring International Raceway on the outskirts of Sebring, Florida, U.S.A.

The Alpine Elf Matmut team won the race overall and the Hypercar class too of Nicolas Lapierre, André Negrão and Matthieu Vaxivière in their Alpine A480, Gibson 4.5 L V8.



While, second place was the Toyota Gazoo Racing, with the team of Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa in their Toyota GR010 Hybrid; Toyota 3.5 L Turbo V6; they were thrity-seven seconds behind the leaders at the end of the race. Meanwhile, third place was the Glickenhaus Racing, with the team of Olivier Pla, Romain Dumas and Ryan Briscoe in their Glickenhaus SCG 007 LMH, Glickenhaus 3.5 L Turbo V8; they were a lap behind the leaders at the end of the race.

In LMP2 class (all cars using the Gibson 4.2 L V8 engine), United Autosports USA team of Paul di Resta, Oliver Jarvis and Josh Pierson in their Oreca 07 won LMP2 class. They finish in fourth place overall and they were two laps behind the leaders at the end of the race.

In LMP2 Pro-Am Cup Class (all cars using the Gibson 4.3 L V8 engine and a team must have a Bronze-rated driver in their line-up) AF Corse team of Nicklas Nielsen, François Perrodo and Alessio Rovera in their Oreca 07 won LMP2 Pro-Am class. They finish in twelfth place overall and they were three laps behind the leaders at the end of the race.

While in GTE Pro class, was won by Porsche GT Team of Michael Christensen and Kevin Estre won in their Porsche 911 RSR-19. They finish in seventeenth place overall and they were eleven laps behind the leaders at the end of the race.

While in GTE Am class, was won by Northwest AMR team of Paul Dalla Lana, David Pittard and Nicki Thiim in their Aston Martin Vantage AMR. They finish in twenty-first place overall and they were fourteen laps behind the leaders at the end of the race.
