It was confirmed on Friday (21/1/22), that Channel 4 will replace the BBC in broadcasting Formula E races live in the UK across the 2021/22 season on a multi-year deal.
The Channel 4 will screen every race of the 2021/22 Formula E season via its Channel 4, All4 and Youtube channels for viewers in the UK.
BBC had been the free-to-air Formula E coverage in the UK for the last three seasons, while ITV and Channel 5 did the coverage for the first four seasons combined for the electric series.
Despite the split from the BBC, this is still good news in the UK that Channel 4 has got the rights for Formula E for the years ahead, as I don't believe it could develop as much as it would be on a premium/pay channel such as a Sky or BT for example. Anyway this is great news in the UK for motorsport fans in general.
