It was confirmed before practice at the Russian Grand Prix on Friday (28/9/18), that Haas team will retain both Kevin Magnussen through to the end of the 2020 Formula 1 season alongside Romain Grosjean for the 2019 F1 season, on a one year deal.
Magnussen currently sits ninth place in the Drivers' standings, best finish of two fifth place finishes so far this season. While Grosjean sits fourteenth place in the Drivers' standings, best finish of fourth place at the Red Bull Ring back in July.
Overall, a very good decision from Haas to keep both Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean for next season. Although, I was surprise that Romain Grosjean only got a one-year deal to Kevin Magnussen's two-year deal, which could give the team opportunity for other drivers for the seat for 2020.
Overall, the right choice for Haas going into 2019.
