2018 BTCC Round 1 Recap

Review of Round One of the 2018 British Touring Car Championship season was at Brands Hatch's Indy Circuit, in Kent.

In the first race, WIX Racing with Eurotech driver Jack Goff took the race win in his Honda Civic Type R (FK2) and also took Independents class win. Second was Team BMW driver Colin Turkington in his BMW 125i M Sport, he was half a second behind Goff in the end. While third place was BMW Pirtek Racing driver Andrew Jordan in his BMW 125i M Sport, he was two and half seconds behind Goff in the end.

While, Jack Sears Trophy (for drivers yet to record an overall podium finish or won outright the Jack Sears Trophy championship) was won by Halfords Yuasa Racing driver Dan Cammish in his Honda Civic Type R (FK8), he finished in eighth place and was fifteen seconds behind Goff in the end.


Meanwhile in the second race, Power Maxed Racing driver Senna Proctor took the race win in his Vauxhall Astra. Second was Trade Price Cars with Brisky Racing driver Jake Hill in his Volkswagen CC and also took Independents class win and the Jack Sears Trophy as-well, he was six tenths of a second behind Proctor in the end. While third place was AmD with Cobra Exhausts driver Ollie Jackson in his Audi S3 Saloon, he was seventeen tenths of a second behind Proctor in the end.


Finally in the third race, Speedworks Motorsport driver Tom Ingram took the race win in his Toyota Avensis and also took Independents class win. Second was Ciceley Motorsport with Mac Tools driver Adam Morgan in his Mercedes-Benz A-Class, he was three seconds behind Ingram in the end. While third place was DUO Motorsport with HMS Racing driver Rob Austin in his Alfa Romeo Giulietta, he was four seconds behind Ingram in the end.

While, Jack Sears Trophy was won by Trade Price Cars with Brisky Racing driver Mike Bushell in his Volkswagen CC, he finished in fifth place and was ten seconds behind Ingram in the end.


Next stop Donington Park for Round Two of the 2018 British Touring Car Championship season in three weeks time.
