2012 MotoGP Season Preview

Today post on the 2012 MotoGP Season Preview about some of the new rules and my top six riders to watch in this seasons premier class. Also, I will predict who will win the title too.

Another new season of MotoGP will start this weekend in Qatar. With new MotoGP bikes this season, with the old 800cc prototype bikes gone and replace with 1,000 cc prototype bikes and engines. Also, in 2012 will see the introduction of Claiming Rule Teams (CRT). Basically street-bike engines in prototype chassis. CRTs will be given twelve engines per rider, six more than the other teams and more fuel too, 24 litres instead of 21 litres then the satellite/factory teams. But, the factory team such as Ducati, Honda and Yamaha can buy or "claiming", their engines for €15,000 or €20,000 with the gearbox included.

So my top 6 riders to watch this season are:

1. Casey Stoner: won the title with Honda last year. Fast and favourite for this years title too. Can Stoner be a three times MotoGP champion.

2. Dani Pedrosa: been fast in testing, been fast for the last six years on the Honda. Can he beat Stoner for the title this year without being injured.

3. Valentino Rossi: a horrible year on the Ducati last year, can he improve this year on a better Ducati to win races or championship as-well.

4. Jorge Lorenzo: 2010 champion can he lead Yamaha again with new 1000cc M1 and take the title away from Stoner.

5. Ben Spies: can he improve his results from last year, and he win more races this season, can he beat Lorenzo in some races this year.

6. Cal Crutchlow: looks fast on the new 1000cc Yamaha M1 in testing, can Crutchlow step up get onto the podium this year, time will tell.

So who will win this years MotoGP world championship. If I'm going to pick a driver to win the championship it's Casey Stoner once again. Looks fast last year, his looks very fast in testing so far, so his my favourite for the title.

A few more posts I am hoping for later in the week. But for now, that is all. Bye.
