2011 F1 Singapore Grand Prix a proper Review

Two posts this weekend, second post will be about Mercedes and Kimi Raikkonen, writen by tomorrow, I'm hopping. And today post will be a review of the Formula 1 night race at last weekends race at Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore.

Good points

  • Red Bull Racing (Sebastian Vettel pole to win, Mark Webber finished 3rd)
  • Jenson Button (finished 2nd in the race)
  • Force India (Paul Di Resta finished 6th, Adrian Sutil finished 8th, now sixth in the constructors championship, now catching up Lotus Renault for fifth place in the constructors championship)
  • Sergio Perez (finished 10th)
  • Heikki Kovalainen (finished 16th, fighting with (Lotus) Renaults in the race)

Bad points

  • Lewis Hamilton (finished 5th, incident with Felipe Massa)
  • Felipe Massa ( finished 9th, incident with Lewis Hamilton, just handbags at night between Massa and Hamilton)
  • Lotus Renault (B. Senna 15th, Petrov 17th)
  • Michael Schumacher (DNF, a scarey crash with Perez)
  • Timo Glock (DNF in his Virgin-Cosworth)

Overall a good race in the night in Singapore. A good race between Fernando Alonso, Mark Webber and Jenson Button. While Sebastian Vettel took a conformable win. And now only Vettel needs only a top 10 finish at Suzuka while Jenson Button needs to win the last five races, which I can't see for Button, to make Sebastian Vettel to be youngest ever back to back/double world champion in the history of the sport.

Anyway end of post for now, new post soon (tomorrow), that is all, Bye.

MotoGP race review and Street Bike Kawasaki around the Nordschleife,

Hi again, Second post of the week, a quick review of last weeks MotpGP race at Aragon and a Kawasaki around the Nurburgring.

Stoner won Round 14 in the MotoGP Championship at Aragon, Spain. With Casey Stoner finished first, Dani Pedrosa finished second for a Honda 1-2, while current champion Jorge Lorenzo finished 3rd in his Yamaha. Now with 44 points gap between Stoner and Lorenzo, with four races to go, look set for Stoner for the drivers world championship. Next stop Motegi in Japan in two weeks time.

At the start of September I wriiten a post about
an electric race car around the Nordschleife under eight minute mark. Todays post, a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R 2011 going around the 13 mile Nordschleife track in 7 minutes and 50 seconds only on two wheels as fast as the electric based race car.So enjoy the video below.

Anyway end of blog for now, new post soon. That is all. Bye.

DTM 2012, The new batch of DTM cars

Hi again, possibly three posts this week, today post is all about DTM in 2012. Back in early July, I've written a post about DTM in Munich and the BMW M3 car for next season. As the videos below shows the New M3.

BMW M3 DTM 2012

Last week at the Frankfurt Automotive Show both Mercedes and Audi showed off their new cars for next season, Mercedes AMG C-Coupe and Audi A5.

Mercedes DTM AMG C-Coupe 12

Audi A5 DTM 12

An interesting fact that next season, all three cars will be sharing 50 parts, which includes flappy paddle gear box and rear wing to save cost. Which is quite amazing between these three brands. Also, for new manufactures who may want to go into DTM such as an Opel for example. Who would possibly have the same components as Audi, Mercedes and BMW. Anyway bring on Round 1 at Hockinheim 2012 with the three brands in DTM.

That is all. Bye.

Plato vs Neal round: I've lost count

Second post of the week guys and talking about BTCC (or showing of footage), in-particular two drivers'. Since 2005, BTCC drivers Jason Plato and Matt Neal haven't been friends (don't ask me why).

Now in 2011 with most of the teams in BTCC using the BTCC Turbo engines that includes Matt Neal's Honda team, except for Chevrolet, which includes Jason Plato whos got a non turbo engine, there has been a lot of complaining this season from the current champion.

While at Rockingham for qualifying for round 8 of BTCC, Plato block Neal in qualifying, that cost him a front row start, while Plato is on pole
. After qualifying there was a little fight between the two drivers. As the fan footage shows:

Who says enemies can be close with each other. Anyway, End post for now, new post soon. Bye.

Italian Grand Prix Review (Vettel getting closer) and GP2 and GP3 news

Only this post this week (it may change,if I got anything to write). Anyway Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix Review, A great race from Monza, minus Sebastian Vettel lead the race from start to finish. Still a great race, expressively the battle between Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher in the middle of the race. An interesting fact, that the top five in the race were current and former world champions (from Vettel, Button, Alonso, Hamilton and M. Schumacher). I don't think this will happen for a long while.

And with Vettel's win at Monza, Sebastian Vettel could win the Formula 1 drivers title at Singapore. If Vettel wins, while Alonso, Webber, Button finish outside the top three, while Red Bull will have to wait until Suzuka or South Korea to win the constructors championship.

While at Monza, Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas won this years GP3 championship. We will possibly see Valtteri in a Formula 1 car with Williams at Abu Dhabi later in the year in the young drivers test, and more than likely in a top GP2 team next season.

While talking about GP2, Romain Grosjean won the GP2 at Spa with a round to spare. So were are we going to see him next season? His talented driver, but due to his pervious experience with Renault back in 2009 replacing Nelson Piquet Jr with no great impressions back then. So possibly driving a back of a grid team like HRT or Virgin maybe, with a batch of Renault engines maybe included.

Before we finish, Christian Bakkerud former GP2 racer had died at the weekend, in a road accident in South London on Sunday morning. So to my thoughts are with his family. R.I.P. Christian Bakkerud.

Lucky Boys at Baltimore

Hi again, second post of the week. This post is about last week at Baltimore were two lucky escapes from two different series in Indy Car Series and ALMS.

First one in Indy Car Series were KV Racing driver Tony Kanaan (who is also a good friend of Rubens Barrichello) had a brake failure on his race car, were he crashed on top of Penske driver of Hélio Castroneves at end of the straight in a practice session. A lucky escape from both drivers. As the video below shows.

In the race, Kannan even finished in third place in his Dallara Honda.

Meanwhile in ALMS (American Le Mans Series) Black Swan GTC class driver Jeroen Bleekemolen loses a tire during qualifying and gets out of the car to recover the tire. He still manages to secure the pole position. Which is quite amazing as this video shows, the commentator explains why.

On race day. Jeroen Bleekemolen and team mate Tim Pappas won in the GTC class in Baltimore aswell.

Anyway. End of posts for this week. New post soon. That is all. Bye.

Misano MotoGP Review and F1 Italian Grand Prix Predictions

Two post this week, first one a quick review of last weeks MotoGP race at Misano. Then, this weekends Italian Grand Prix Predictions. A great win for Jorge Lorenzo on his Yamaha ahead of both Pedrosa and Stoner. And now the gap is down to 33 points between Stoner & Lorenzo. With five races to go, who going to win this years championship.

While for this weekends Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix Predictions at Monza, Sebastian Vettel for the win in the Red Bull, Fernando Alonso second in the Ferrari and a surprising one Michael Schumacher third in the Mercedes. Don't forget Mark Webber, Felipe Massa or two McLaren drivers either.

Anyway, second post on Saturday, That is all. Bye.

Belgium Grand Prix Review, MotoGP and Loris Capirossi

Hi there, second post of the week, discussing a quick review of the Belgium Grand Prix and MotoGP news. As I said on my Twitter page about the F1 race:

"F1 Spa good race 3.8/5, red bull 1-2 (p1 vet - p2 web), impress with both button 3rd & m. schu 5th pace in the race."

It looks more than likely that Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing will win both Drivers and Constructors Championships, but when. My predictions, more than likely at the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka in mid October will be likely.

Meanwhile in Motogp, at round 12 at Indianapolis. A Honda another one-two with Casey Stoner leading Dani Pedrosa, while an impressive Ben Spies was third ahead of team mate Jorge Lorenzo. This gives Stoner a 44 points ahead of the current champ Lorenzo. And this weekend for MotoGP, round round 13 at Misano.

As a little note: Current Parmac Ducati rider Loris Capirossi will be retiring at the end of the season. In My Opinion, possibly the best time to retired from the veteran Italian rider, still had options for next season in MotoGP and World Superbike, if he wanted to un-retired himself.

Anyway end of blog for now. New post soon. That is all. Bye.

TMG EV P001 around the Nordschleife

First, a F1 and MotoGP post later in the week. But for now something completely different. Before I start writing this, the reason I wrote this due to its the first electric car I've written for the blog, and this something different what I don't usally type (usually Petrol or Diesel power), so enjoy.

Since Toyota walked away from Formula 1 at the end 2009 season. Their sister company Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG), which also done the World Rally Championship program back in the 1990s. Have created a new race car called: TMG EV P001. Which is basically a Electric power-train power race car.

The car has set a new lap record for an electric vehicle (EV) on the Nordschleife track at the Nürburgring. It set a new lap record around Nordschleife for an electric vehicle under the eight minute mark, A time of 7mins 47.794secs to beat the previous lap record.

The car electric powertrain has 375bhp, which weighs only under 1000kg (basically to imagine it, a BMW M3 engine into a Lotus Elise and then putting slick tyres, then you get the idea), adding up a maximum top speed of 155mph, to achieve under a eight minute time around the Nurburgring, as this video from YouTube shows.

Now I wonder we will ever see a electric power car or even the TMG EV P001 go under the Pagani Zonda R lap time of 6:47.5 from last year. Who knows will hold for electric power race cars. Anyway end of blog for now new post soon. Bye.
